French Bistro in 18th or 19th District

I%26#39;ll be traveling to Paris for a trade fair at Le Bourget in the coming months and am hoping someone might be able to help me out with some restaurant/bistro recommendations in the 18th or 19th districts?

Ultimately I%26#39;m looking for an authentic little bistro that the locals enjoy....hoping you can help!

Thanks!

Go to the area around Jules Joffrin metro and take your pick. Every other restaurant is not yet a sushi place.

Here are several places in the 18th that are most enjoyable and locals are much in evidence:

La Mascotte, 52, rue des Abbesses, - especially for great oysters, A La Pomponette, 42, rue Lepic, - excellent bistro, Chez Ginette, 101, rue Caulaincourt,-great daily menus, and Le Petit Caboulot, 6 place Jacques-Fromet--superb duck confit %26amp; tarte Tatin of apple or pear.

Thank you both for your suggestions - they all look fantastic and now its a matter of choosing! One last question though -- will we need to make reservations to these resturants mid week?

Merci!

In the 19th, Buttes Chaumont area:

- L%26#39;Hermès 23 rue Mélingue

- Rosa Bonheur, pavillon Wepler, avenue de la Cascade, inside the parc. No reservation. It livens up at night, when the parc closes, the latest venue for hip bobos.

In the 19th, bassin de la Villette area:

- Rendez-vous de la Marine, 14 quai de la Loire

- Bar Ourcq 68 quai de la Loire. Bobo HQ

By La Villette parc, porte de Pantin side:

- Aux Arts et Sciences réunis, 161 avenue Jean Jaurès. Has not changed since before WW2

In the 19th near Belleville area down the Buttes Chaumont:

- Zoe Bouillon 66 rue Rebeval. Bobo HQ

- Mon Oncle le Vigneron 2 rue Pradier. Make a reservation, it will open for you (it%26#39;s a grocery store, but they do organise dinners on one big shared table) tel 01 42 00 43 30

- Sushiya 12 rue Pradier. Tiny, call speaks French with a huge Japanese accent, try his English 01 42 02 85 82

- Chez Kiki les bons amis 1 rue de l%26#39;Atlas for lunches: the real working Paris (not in August though, everyone%26#39;s on vacations). No reservations, but it%26#39;s packed, go early.

You probably won%26#39;t need reservations if you go early; I am not sure if any or all accept reservations. Later in the evening the day%26#39;s specials can be sold out too. Bon Appetit!

LOL, I%26#39;m glad you got sensible and helpful responses because my inner smartass immediately thougth %26quot;all of them%26quot; (which wouldn%26#39;t have been helpful at all, of course).

Thanks for posting the question, and thanks to those who came up with the composite list.

Chez Toinette is a cozy French bistro located at 20, rue Germaine Pilon (Montmartre). Game %26amp; fish dishes figure often on the menu. Two popular desserts are the creme brulee %26amp; the rasberry tart.

Ranked 37 (out of 5,927) currently on the TA site.

I have never eaten at Au Roi du Café right at metro Marx Dormoy, because I could pretty much spit out of my window and have the blob land in somebody%26#39;s plate. But it looks pretty good and the prices are totally reasonable.
