Beauvais airport to Disneyland Paris

Hi there, i have a slight problem, i am going to Disneyland on the 27th this month and arriving at Beauvias. How do i get to Disneyland from the airport? There is no direct shuttle bus that will take me to it like it does in CDG, and taxi fares are too expensive, I am travelling with my 11 yr old daughter and i dont want to be wandering about with her or be a target.

I would be grateful for any help.

There is no easy way to reach DLP from Beauvais. You basically have 2 options:

1. Shuttle to Port Maillot

Then RER A to A4 Marne-la-Vallee

6.55 euros

Plan on 2 1/2 to 3 hours en route.

2. Shuttle such as Allonavette - 129 euros

Enough time between CDG and Paris Gare de Lyon?

I am new to TA. I have tried to read many postings on similar subjects. Still I am not sure what to do. Please help.

My flights lands at 12pm on Sept 15. at CDG terminal 3. I like to head to Avignon as soon as I land. I am considering the 15:16pm train from Paris Gare De lyon to Avignon (~25 euros).

1) Do you think I have enough time to catch the train?

2) Is the Air France shuttle the best way to get from CDG to Gare de Lyon?

3) From the french sncf site, at some point I was asked to choose among three Gare de Lyon stations, one of which is PER. Which is the right one?

4) Also I see two trains with the exact time schedule. One is TGV and the other is iDTGV. The price is slighly different. Does this make sense? Does it matter which one I choose?

5) There is a 17pm direct train (~45 euros) from CDG to Avignon. Should I simply stay at CDG for 5 hrs to avoid the pain?

Answer to point 5: yes. Your time differential is 1h45 minutes so why go through all of that and extra cost (16 euro for the AF shuttle) for so little?

Point 3: the site understood gares in the city of Lyon and not Gare de Lyon train station in Paris and yes, in the city of Lyon there is a station called Perrache (PER)

We landed at Terminal 3 in late June. It%26#39;s the smallest and usually the least busy of the terminals.

About half the flight%26#39;s luggage was on the carousel when we came through immigration... there were only 2 booths manned ... it took a further 40 minutes for the other half of the bags to show up. I was fine as I rarely check a bag but we had to wait for my wife%26#39;s.

Bottom line... you could be at the airport for longer than you think so take the later train.

With immigration and the long wait for the bag we were in the terminal for close to an hour and a half.

There%26#39;s also the walk from T3 to the bus to consider as I doubt it stops at T3.

There are trains out of CDG on Sept. 15th before 17h00.

Here are a few: Granted the second one is 5 hours, so not the best choice, but the first one - which MIGHT be a stretch if your flight or luggage are held up (but reimbursable tickets are available), but the last one would work with no issues.

Colmar to Illhaeusern

We are staying in Colmar in September and would like to go to Illhaeusern. We don%26#39;t have a car.

Could you please advise what the closest train station is to Illhaeusern?

I think the nearest train station is Ribeauville.

There is a limited bus service direct from Colmar on line 109.

Sorry don%26#39;t know the taxi cost but a fair bit from Colmar, but it%26#39;s only 5 minutes so fairly cheap from Ribeauville.

France Itinerary

I%26#39;m visiting France with a friend in Sept 3-15.

My tentative itinerary is:

Paris: 3 nights

Lyon: 3 nights

Avignon: 3 nights

Strausbourg: 2 nights

Note that I%26#39;ve spent a week in Paris before and hit most of the major sites with a side trip to Versailles. My major concern is if I%26#39;m giving myself enough time to explore without feeling rushed, and if these are the best cities to visit by rail...I%26#39;ve left a day open just in case we need more time. Thanks in advance for any insight.

It looks perfectly do-able and wold give more than just a taste of the cities. The only leg that is less than completely straightforward is Avignon-Strasbourg. You would probably have to return to Lyon and change trains. You can find timetables and make bookings on www.voyages-sncf.com

Avignon itself can be %26quot;done%26quot; in a day (it is much smaller than the other places on your list) but it is easy to get to other places such as Arles and Nimes from there by train.

The museum was located between Cannes and Antibes, but I%26#39;m (fairly) sure that it closed at the end of last year and the owner sold off most of his car collection.

Perhaps someone else will be able to confirm this.

I can, sadly: we were at the museum (which was actually in Mougins) on its last, very rainy day. We were told that the museum closed because of not enough visitors--and I know exactly why that was: the museum was extremely hard to find. It was fairly well sign-posted from the autoroute, but from Mougins there was virtually nothing. We ended up calling the French friend whom we were to meet, then waited in a supermarket parking lot until she came for us and led us to the museum. Even SHE had a hard time finding it, and she lives only about 10 miles away.

But we saw some great cars and got lots of good pictures. There were two cars, including a superb Bentley, that could be rented...along with a chauffeur to drive them. My favorite of the collection was a gorgeous Lancia.

La Bastide de l%26#39;Adrech is quite charming.

Manosque is l%26#39;Occitane%26#39;s homebase so you can visit the factory and stock up on some products.

Crafts you will find are:

- santons (small saints) which are the terracotta manger figures Michel Gilli is in Manosque in Rue Grande.

- Moustiers earthenware go to Moustiers Sainte Marie there are many artisans and faience makers

- olive tree wood carvings

- various articles out of provencal fabric: table cloths, clothing,...

Where to see wildlife?

I%26#39;m taking a trip with my wife to Europe next summer which is all very exciting!

I%26#39;ve been reading and planning for the last few months but I%26#39;m great having trouble deciding on a location to visit other than Paris on our way through France.

We%26#39;d like somewhere peaceful after the hustle and bustle of Paris, and I%26#39;d like somewhere with forests to hike through and the odd mountain would be nice! But more than that I%26#39;d like somewhere with a lot of wildlife (I%26#39;m particularly looking forward to fireflies, squirrels and badgers whilst I%26#39;m in Europe). Depending on which way our trip flows our next destination would be either Madrid or Rome (possibly Zermatt).

Any ideas on a suitable location would be greatly appreciated!

Considering the population density of Western Europe, you will never see as much %26quot;wildlife%26quot; as at home, but it%26#39;s true that you will have a much better chance in regions of mountains and forests. One of the best places in France is the Parc National du Mercantour on the Italian border, which is still really wild, unlike most of the Alpine region in France.

But even just the forest of Fontainebleau would give you plenty of chances to see rabbits, deer and boars if you stray from the main promenades.

There are also some lovely places in the Vosges mountains just before Alsace, like Gérardmer.

Another suggestion would be to go to Chambord Castle and Royal reserve (Chambord the biggest forested enclosed park in Europe). It is 4500 hectare, ie above 11000 acres. More info on chateauxtourisme.com/isla/…

If you did that you would have the opportunity to visit one or several castle of the Loire Valley. You would have to rent a car. If not, you might not get the flexibility you are looking for.

Another suggestion - completely different - would be the Baie de Somme and the Parc du Marquenterre, one of the biggest birds reserve, dur to its natural stopping point for migratiry birds. To go there, you could take the train from Gare du Nord to Abbeville. From there there are different travel options.

We%26#39;ve done a bit of walking in various parts of Europe and have been lucky to see some wildlife. However, it was often luck - or being with a guide who knew where to look! I can see grey squirrels in my garden here but I%26#39;ve never seen a badger alive in the wild, though there are setts near me (in the UK), and the only time I%26#39;ve seen red squirrels was at a feeding point.

So, if seeing the animals is important, I%26#39;d suggest you consider finding animal parks with guaranteed local wildlife in %26#39;native%26#39; surroundings, then go off and enjoy your walking and if you see wildlife, it%26#39;s a bonus!

Last year, we went to the Parc Animalier des Angles which is close to the Spanish border (it was OK, but we couldn%26#39;t spot any wild boars, which was a priority for us). I%26#39;d have liked to visit http://www.parc-animalier-pyrenees.com/ in Argeles-Gazost, which looks good - it%26#39;s also close to the Donjon des Aigles www.donjon-des-aigles.com/anglais/index.html which we have been to and it%26#39;s the best bird of prey display I%26#39;ve ever seen.

I don%26#39;t know about animal parks towards Italy and Switzerland - we saw a few marmottes and chamois walking near Chamonix last year, though some were obviously quite tame!

If you want to go to the Mercantour combined with paris then its probably easiest to fly or take the train to Nice. The edges of the parc are then easily accessed by local train or bus or car.

Its an amazing area for walks and nature observation and the mediaeval villages surrounding the parc are beautiful and interesting to visit.

wild red squirrels are even pretty easy to see near Nice in Parc vaugrenier [edge of Villeneuve Loubet] near Biot gare/Antibes

Badgers i%26#39;ve only seen on film or dead by the side of the road or old abandoned setts.

Fireflies -are amazing but they don%26#39;t seem to fly all summer long - they can be seen in a lot of places even in some towns/cities eg edges of Antibes, Nice as well as the countryside proper.

A trip we will be hopefully be doing again this week is taking the bus from Nice to St martin vesubie on the edge of the mercantour parc [about an hour and a half on the bus and costs one euro per person ] then taking the shuttle bus to Le Boreon hamlet to see the wolves at Parc Alpha [ semi wild wolf packs in a mountain park]

We will then be walking through the trees and trying to spot other wildlife esp raptors , then catching and eating local Boreon brown trout and having it cooked at one of the restaurants- called L%26#39;Ô à la bouche [they have a stocked pond and give out fishing poles.]

Its DIY trip using a local buses into the mountains.

Buses in Nice and surroundings have a flat fare of one euro to encourage people to use public tranpsort rather than cars.
