avignon to small villages by bus

Hi

I am staying in Avignon for 4 days and would like to travel to small villages close by, by public transport any suggestionsI would also like to travel to a village and walk say about 10 km to another village then back by public transport back to Avignon Thanks

The bus timetables for the Avignon area are on the departmental website www.vaucluse.fr/1119-recherche-de-lignes.htm For areas further south, use http://www.lepilote.com/ and check both Cartreize and Lignes rĂ©gionales www.lepilote.com/transports/index.asp…

Train timetables are on the sncf website (or use the German railways site for easier searching in English www.bahn.de/international/view/en/index.shtml )

The local rail network is here: ter-sncf.com/Paca/carte_horaires/index.asp

If you get a chance, could you report back with details of how you get on, as there are regular queries about visiting the area by public transport and it would be very helpful to read the different experiences?

If I may give you a bit of advice, as a regular user of public transport in the area, it%26#39;s to ensure that you can get back the same day because many services are essentially commuter services so they take people from outlying areas to work in the towns, whereas you are staying in Avignon and travelling the other way. You will get best advice from the bus stations rather than tourist offices.
