Paris For Two Days

I%26#39;ll be visiting Paris for the first time in September, arriving on Eurostar about 10am on a Saturday, returning 17:00 on the Sunday.

I%26#39;d be grateful for suggestions of an itinerary on how best to use the time. I%26#39;d like to visit the typical tourist spots: Seine River Cruise, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Louvre, Champs-Élysées and the Arc de Triomphe.

Would quite like to see Eiffel tower all lit up at night.

Secondly we are looking at staying at a hotel near Place D%26#39;Italia, is this a good location. We are happy to walk or use transport to get around.

You advice is most welcome.

I%26#39;ll bump this up for you. Place D%26#39;Italie is a bit out from the centre in the 13th arrondisement but it is a 10 minute ride by metro or 15minute by bus to the Seine.

You have stated your itinerary in the list if things you wish to do. In two days you will have difficulty fitting them all in. Here are some suggestions.

When you arrive you could spend some time getting orientated or catch the hop on hop off bus that will take you round all the main sights. Then you can decide what you want to do.

You can get seine river cruise discounted tickets by googling Les Vendettes du Pont Neuf. If you go late you will see the Eiffel tower lit up from the river. Prior to that you could visit Notre Dame as it is nearby.

The Arc de Triomphe is at the top of the Champs Elysees so I would suggest that you metro to the Arc and the walk down the Champs Elysees.

Walk through the Tuilleries gardens and you will find the Louvre. You can spend a long time in the louvre it is pretty overwhelming.

Hope this helps.
