First trip to Paris, some hotel advice please

I will be taking my daughter to Paris for five days over Thanksgiving. Can anyone recommend a nice hotel in the area, nothing budget but not too pricey either? Also, what is the best way to get from the airport to hotel? Should I grab a taxi or reserve a shuttle?

Any advice is appreciated.

I would stay in the Latin Quarter -- there are many nice hotels -- look on trip advisor for their top rated moderately priced ones (Hotel des Grand Ecoles is an old favorite of ours but there are others)

I would just take the RER in or a taxi -- shuttles are more trouble than they are worth and with two people not significantly less expensive than a taxi

for that length of time you might see if there is a small apartment -- even a studio is nice because with a kitchenette you can do your own breakfasts (running out each morning to the bakery for baquette and pain chocolate etc etc is fun -- and having a place for snacks, cheese etc and desert pastries is also fun

what a great idea -- we thoroughly enjoyed sharing Paris with our daughter when she was a teen and then later with all our kids at Christmastime

You should also consider staying on Ile St. Louis at Hotel de Lutece which fits the criteria you mentioned. It%26#39;s a great location close to Notre Dame and the Marais as well as the Latin Qtr. and St. Germain areas. Great walking location...

Suggest you take a taxi (Taxi Parisien-licensed taxi) located in a taxi rank just outside the Arrivals exit doors.
