St Pee sur Nivelle or St Jean Pied de Port

Does anyone know both of these places? We are flying into Biarritz and have a fairly early flight back a week later. We want to visit St Jean de Luz and St Sebastian. We would like to walk and possibly mountain bike. We like to shop locally and cook but also eat out a bit. We have found great apartment/houses in both locations but can%26#39;t decide which to head for. Please can anyone advise us.Thank you

St Pée sur Nivelle is a village a few kilometers east of St Jean-de-Luz. It%26#39;s spread out somewhat, but comfortable. Pied-de=Port in further inland, at the start of the French Route of the Camino de Santiago, in the Pyrenees.

Thank you for your response . We have found accomodation near to St Pee so I think we are going to go for this area so we are not too far inland. The lake looks nice and we want to walk etc and visit the coast .Thanks again

You%26#39;ll like the area and hopefully it will be a lot cooler than it has been the last few days. It was over 35C today, and humid. It%26#39;s the hot winds blowing north from the Sahara.

By the way, the name of the village is St Pée (%26quot;Pay%26quot;).

We have been offerred accomodation in Souraide which is a small village near to St Pee do you know it at all? It sounds as though its in the right spot for what we want .Is it close to St Pee? We will have a car of course. It looks lovely but it is always good to speak to someone who knows the area Thank you

Souraide is another small village a few minutes east of St Pée, on the D918 road to Espelette. The area is nice.

My parents have a house in St jean pied de port and it is lovely. There is not so much to do though although there are nice restaurants. The cote de boeuf at Cafe tipia is not to be beaten. There is a crazy golf if you have children.

San Sebastian is great and busy.
