Where is this meeting point?

I have a reservation for a day tour with this minibus tour company.

Is this in the Tours Station in the centre of town. Or St Pierre des Corps?

I find this very confusion. People seem to refer to them interchangeably.

It is in the main Tours station (not St Pierre des Corps). It should be easy to spot once you walk into the station. [I think the confusion arises from the fact that most - but not all - TGV trains between Paris and Tours require a change at St Pierre des Corps.]

Just to confirm the previous posting, it is the Tours Centre station in the centre of Tours.

I emailed the company itself - Touraine Evasion - they simply said %26quot;yes TGV station%26quot; - then someone else would specifically refer to St Pierre des Corps as THE TGV station.

The Tours Centre station is a terminus. The main north - south railway line runs through St Pierre des Corps, which is about 2 kilometres from Tours Centre station. Paris bound trains from Tours have to join the main line at St Pierre des Corps.

Therefore there are more Paris bound trains at St Pierre des Corps, because as well as the trains originating from Tours, there are also all of the trains coming up from Bordeaux etc on the main line. There are Navettes (shuttle trains) taking passengers from Tours Centre in time to catch the main line trains which stop at St Pierre des Corps.

Most of the trains from Bordeaux and other major cities to the south stopping at St Pierre des Corps will be TGVs. However, some TGVs to Paris also start from the terminus at Tours Centre. There are also local trains at both stations.

Therefore it is wrong and confusing to call either station a %26quot;TGV station%26quot;.

If you type Tours into the %26quot;from box%26quot; on the SNCF French railway site, it will give you two options to choose from - Tours Centre, and St Pierre des Corps, i.e. no mention of a TGV station.

Sorry if this is a bit long winded, but I thought I would try and clarify the situation, which often causes confusion in TA.

No not at all. Your clear explanation is very much appreciated by this first time traveller to France at the very least. Others have probably found it confusing.
