Are there various boat lines that can take you from Nice/Cannes to St. Tropez? I have never been so I only know Trans Cote d Azur, does anyone have any recommendations on other boats/ferries?

As far as I konw, the only ferry company which now operates from Nice and/or Cannes to St Tropez is Trans Cote d%26#39;Azur which you mention.
Only other way to get there by public transport is to take the train to St Raphael and then a boat

we are wanting to go to st tropez also from nice/cannes. It seems odd that there is only one company doing this, the trans boat leaves way to early on the way back and is fairly slow. There must be a quicker option. The traffic sounds so bad that its not even worth getting in the car.
If anyone finds a private company that does this i would be very interested to know. I am still searching.

Yes you can charter a boat but that will be very expensive - maybe £500 or more plus fuel.
Or you can take the boat that we have already told you about.
You can drive and take your chance with the traffic problems.
You can take the train or bus to St Raphael and then boat or bus from there.
You can drive to Ste Maxime and take a boat from there.
You can take the train or bus to Ste Raphael. Then bus to Ste Maxime and the boat from there.
Or finally you can take a helicopter but you need a taxi from where the helicopter lands to St Tropez - might be included in the fee.
I think I have exhausted your possibilties.
St Tropez is not easy to get to but if you get there it is a lot of fun.

JBart is correct - the options are limited except if you want to pay. THe helicopter will be close to 1000 euro and you still need to get to Nice airport or Monaco Heliport. Also - the boat can be a nightmare if the weather changes, and the wind picks up.... The train/boat is your best option, in my opinion...
