Drive from Rodez to Beziers

Hi

Thinking of getting cheap Ryanair flights into Rodez to access our accommodation near Beziers - whar sort of a drive would this be - google maps is saying 187km around 2 hours 20 mins - looks like a drive through mountains ? we have driven in France before and enjoyed it - saving would be 600 euros so will seriously consider it !

All advice will be appreciated !

I covered most of that route last summer in the opposite direction as far as Aguessac where we turned off into the Gorges du Tarn. If you stick to the motorway it%26#39;s a very easy drive.

You%26#39;ll get to cross the Millau viaduct too...

Rob

appreciate the quick and very helpful response - will book flights tonight ! Thanks alot.

Any suitable half way stop for a bite to eat or stretch the legs - wil have the 2 boys with us ages 9 %26amp; 6.

Thanks again.

Not half way in kilometers but maybe in time because of the time spent getting out of the airport and on the road from Rodez... you%26#39;ll come to the Millau Viaduct over the Tarn Valley at Millau.

It%26#39;s bound to capture the attention of a couple of small boys! You don%26#39;t really grasp it just driving over it so stop at the viewing area museum just before. If you have time drive down into Millau and have lunch there and you%26#39;ll be bound to have a great view.

Hi

Planning on taking a similar route, ie. Rodez to Olonzac, approx 30 mins from Beziers. Can you tell me how you found the drive. Are the roads good, is it mostly mountain.

Thanks for your help

Hi

We will be travelling in early July so I will come back to you after that.

Just to update you on our trip.

Our sat nav took us the shortest route but maybe not the best route. The distance is around 200k and it took us 2.5 hours. Certainly the first hour or so form Rodez was through the mountains but was safe and not too narrow or windy. But we didn%26#39;t have to go that way so we blame the sat nav ! After that it is a nice drive down over the Millau bridge etc.

We did this journey to avail of cheaper flights from Dublin. Ideally we would like to fly into an airport closer to our destination but budget doesn%26#39;t always allow that ! So check your route on the map as well as the sat nav and stick to the main roads where possible !
