The Five Hotel

Thinking of booking the Five Hotel for 4 nights this weekend. Anyone stayed there before? What do think of it? Is the location for walking to the main sights? Thanks!

I%26#39;ve never stayed there, but anything in arondissements 1-6 is considered central. (I think your hotel is in the 5th?) You%26#39;re never far from a metro station - 500m max - and Paris was just made for walking. You are within walking distance of Bastille and the Marais for starters. Notre Dame is just about walkable, but Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower would be a bus or metro trip.

All this is assuming you are at Hotel Five on Rue Flatters.

Rue Flatters....thats the one! I am having some difficulty in booking the hotel because I dont have any French.

Standard 1 personne (1 lit double)

Supérieure Scintillante 1 à 2 personnes (2 lits simples)

Is your French any good? It seems that the room for 1 person has a double bed, but the room for 1 or 2 people has 2 single beds.

Am I right or is my translation messed up?!

Merci!

You are right about your translation! The Five is the latest of Paris%26#39;s boutique hotels and is all over the press here. This area of the lower 5th, around Gobelins, is an interesting one, central yet not touristy. For your further reservation processes, don%26#39;t hesitate to call them directly in English: with such a positioning, they should be able to have someone to answer you in your language.

They are listed on the Epoque Hotel List found here:

http://www.epoquehotels.com/paris.html

I%26#39;ve stayed at 3 of the hotels on their Paris list and enjoyed each one of them (however not the Five Hotel).

I agree with giving them a call. I%26#39;m sure they have someone who can describe all the room choices in English.

Thanks for the advice. It seems that they have no availability this weekend. Any reccomendations for a different boutique style hotel?

Thanks.

The website that toutou gave you lists most of the hotels of this kind in Paris. The previous craze was the Murano, the Kube is supposed to be fun. You can also try the Pershing Hall, the K (on avenue Kléber), the Costes.

Thank you,

Kate.

I´d been there one month ago and it is now one of my perfect places in the world. The hotel is amazing and the service was very good.

LOL !!!

For a moment I thought %26quot;The Five Hotel%26quot; was some kind of forum slang-lingo for %26quot;George V%26quot;......

Sorry.....
