Hello! I%26#39;m going to London and Paris for the first time. I was looking on the Eurostar website and found a %26quot;Paris Museum and Monument Pass%26quot; for two days. It seems like a reasonable deal (I%26#39;ll only be in the city for three days) but wanted to know if anyone had any insightful information about the pass. Any help you may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Personally, if you go to the smaller museums then it is worth it because it is a flat rate for the pass at many museums.
If you plan on going to the Louvre, then it may take 2 days to see the whole Louvre. Therefore, you would be overpaying the admission for the Louvre and likely too tired and/or out of time to visit other museums.

Thank you for your posting. I really appreciate the input! Best, Lana

Some of the museums are free the 1st Sunday of every month but they are swarmed with people.
Also, some museums open late 1 or 2 days a week. If you plan the museums well, it could be a cost savings measure. Just keep in mind the fatigue, crowds and possible humidity. Not all parts of the museums are air conditioned and, of course, I happened to go during a recent heat wave. Normally, Paris is not that hot.
Have a good trip. D%26#39;Orsay took us 3 hours; most of the Louvre took almost 2 days; Musee Jacquemart Andre took 1 hour; Versailles incl gardens et al took 1 day.

Add up the cost of your %26quot;must see%26quot; museums. If that comes close to the cost of the pass (check on the webiste that all of them are included), then get it because it shortens lines and allows you to stop by some of the smaller gems (like the Cluny).
If you do go to Versailles, be sure you have either the museum pass or purchase tickets in advance on line. The lines are very long.

We just got back after a week in Paris. We purchased a 4 day pass and found it very valuable. We went to about 7 or 8 museums so it was beneficial financially.Where I found it valuable was that it abled you to bypass the lines. There was a huge lineup at Versailles and we just moved to a line on the left and went in in about 3 minutes. Cheers Dan

I have used the pass on many occassions but often buy the pass not necessarily to save a great deal of money but to skip the queues.

There is a place on the Louvre website where you can buy Louvre tix in-advance on-line and have them mailed to the US. Will we be able to bypass the lines with these tix?
It seems that this method satisfies the line bypass attributes of the museum pass without paying for other museums for 2-4-6 days. Am I interpreting this correctly?

Thanks very much for the helpful suggestions! Best,
