Richard Lenoir metro stop?

I%26#39;d like to visit this market, Can anyone tell me if the metro stop would be Bastille or Richard Lenoir? Also, how does it compare to Les Enfants Rouge? (Might not have time to do both!)

Bastille. I%26#39;ve never been to Enfants Rouge. Its much better/different than the outdoor Marche Aligre as far as prepared foods.

The parents regularly went to Enfants Rouge (they rent an apt by Rambeteau - I stay near Place Bastille), but were thrilled when I turned them on to Richard Lenoir

Excellent advice, thanks Evening.

When you say that you would like to visit this market, do you mean the Bastille Sunday market? If so, then get off at the Bastille metro stop. Sunday is the day to come. The market is also held on Thursdays, but is considerably smaller. And, if you come during July and August, you will not be seeing the market as it really is during most of the year. The Bastille market is said to be one of the most vibrant markets in Paris, and we shop there every Sunday. Right now, with most of the vendors on vacation, the market is a shadow of it normal self. There are so many empty spaces, or cheap clothing vendors where our regular vendors normally are, that it is difficult to shop right now. All of the best stands are on vacation, and we can%26#39;t wait until they come back.

Les Enfant Rouge is a much smaller market where you would go for lunch as much as to shop. You really can%26#39;t compare it to the Bastille, but I am tempted to stop every time that I go by because all of the take out stands look so tempting.

Great information - thanks for that. We will be visiting in September so really glad all the best vendors will have retuned by then. I take it Richard Lenoir and Bastille are the same market?

Yes, it is know by both names, sorry for not making that clear.

Thanks slowpoke
