From Cannes to Monte Carlo by train

Our cruiseship will dock at Cannes, we want to know how to go to the train station and which train should we take to go to Monte Carlo? Is Monaco a big place and can we just walk instead of taking other form of transportation. Thank you!

Go on Cannes website to get a map. Train to maonaco is the same as the train that goes to Nice, menton and Vintimille.

Yes Monte-Carlo can be walked but I suggest you get a map since there are 2 sections: the Big Rock where you have Prince Rainier%26#39;s Palace and the Monte-Carlo part where you have the casino.

Train ride is a bit more than 40 minutes from Cannes to Monaco.

Thanks! But how far is the train station from the port? Should we take a taxi or can we just walk?

The distance between the train station and the port is no more than half a mile if I remember correctly. Tiny, compact town. The port dock is right along the beach.

we dock in cannes by criuse ship, how frequent are the trains to monte carlo and what is the cost

Which date are you arriving?

There is at least one train an hour - the journey takes an hour and the round trip is about 16 euros

If you are travelling between 1st July and end September there is a dayrover ticket called a carte isabelle which costs 13 euros

hi I am arriving to cannes in NCL gem cruise on 9 may 2009 since 8am til 3pm

2 adults , one chid 10, could you suggest me a nice tour to do that includes monaco , nice and villefranche., is it posible do it by train in 5 hours., should I book a private driver or is it too expensive?? if not could you suggest something nice

Hi, I am taking the NCL Jade cruise docking in Cannes travelling with my husband and two sons (semi-adult) did you get any replies on the tours taking the train vs hiring a driver?

Any info welcome its my first trip/cruise.

we are doing the same thing (brother and niece and I) in July. Sounds like the train is the way to go.
