Bus from Blois to Chateaux Chambord

Any idea what times the bus leaves from Blois to got to the Chambord castle and what time it leaves there to return? Also what are the costs involved? We are students travelling with valid International Student Cards. Really would appreciate any advise. I have looked at the Blois information office website which is not of much help.

Thank you to you both. I have had a look at the TLC website, all in french what a bummer, don%26#39;t understand much of the language as I come from South Africa, not to worry I should make some sense of it somehow!

Let me know if you need any of it translated :-)

Hello, I will be traveling from Blois to Chambord in a week and wondered how you found the bus trip there and back. Was it too long or not so bad? Also, are there many buses going each weekday? Best, Meagan

|||

Unfortunately Meagan the public bus from Blois to Chambord (and then on to Cheverney) only runs during the high season and finished for this year back in September.

|||

Thank you so much for your note. I appreciate it. Is there any other way to get to Chambord? Oh dear...

|||

Also, if there is no way to get to Chambord via public transport, is there enough to do in Blois that it would be a good location to spend a day or two? Any recommendations for day trips are welcome. best,

Meagan

Meagan, I loved Blois! It%26#39;s a beautiful city.

The castle is amazing and worth a visit, if you%26#39;re interested in French history I really recommend the guided tour. Some of the churches are also interesting: St. Nicolas, St. Louis Cathedral. You can walk around the city and see very old houses where people still live. And you have to try their chocolate, the best in France IMHO! There are many small artisanal chocolate shops, although I%26#39;m partial to Vauche :-)

The Maison de la Magie (House of Magic) is a bit silly, but funny. The magic show they have several times a day is only with music, so you don%26#39;t need to understand French to enjoy it. I even bought a magic trick for my nephew there!

Kwellie, I did the castles tour by bus, but it%26#39;s also possible to rent bikes, maybe you can look into it: http://www.chateauxavelo.com/index1024.htm (English website)
