Taxi from Avignon train station to St. Remy

We are a group of 4 couples who will be meeting in St. Remy on Friday, September 25, 2009. We are coming from different locations and will rent a couple of cars but we are wondering what the approximate taxi fare would be from the train station in Avignon to St. Remy. Thanks for any help you can offer.

The distance from the Avignon TGV station and the centre of St. Remy is 21 kms. Assuming you are not traveling before 7 am or after 10 pm, you should expect a figure in the region of 40 euros (one way).

My fare to go 40 kms from Avignon to Bedoin in normal hours is anywhere from 55 to 75 euros.

If you%26#39;d like to contact a taxi company to inquire for certain, here are a couple:

With eight of you that would be two taxis am I right? If you are arriving at Avignon Centre station rather than the TGV station you could walk 100 metres east along the road outside the station and get the local bus from Avignon to St Remy, the 57A. Here%26#39;s the timetable and the journey costs 4.40 euro per person. www.lepilote.com/img/_info/FH057A.pdf

This saves you quite a few euro which you can spend on wine and song of which there is plenty in St Remy.

If you are arriving at Avignon TGV you would have to get the shuttle (navette) to Avignon Centre, cost 1.20 euro each, one way, then get the bus above.
