Cannes to Monaco/Monte Carlo

We are arriving in Cannes on a cruise ship. We arrive at 7 AM and leave at 3 PM. We would like to go to Monaco, would it be pushing it by taking the train? Any suggestions, we have a reservation to do it with the cruise ship, but I am exploring all my options--Thanks

Hi there,

Assuming that everything goes to plan, the trains are not on strike and you get off the ship quickly, you should allow at least 1.5 hours travelling time each way from Cannes to Monte Carlo. Trains are often delayed and it will take 10 to 15 minutes to walk from the port to the rail station, plus there may be queues to buy your tickets.

This question is asked frequently and if you search the forums you will find plenty of previous answers. I don%26#39;t recall too many tales of woe :)

Enjoy!

when are you travelling?

If its before the end of september, buy a carte isabelle from the ticket machines at the station - these cost 12 euros per person and will save you some money over the ordinary tickets
