A Nice blend!

We are considering travelling to Nice for a couple of weeks in August.

We would like:

- A pool for relaxing by for a couple of days

- Maybe a trip to the sea

- A good place to access neighbouring places, such as Monaco, on public transport

- A bit of nightlife

- Somewhere to walk to in the evening

I hope that it is not too much to ask, but has anyone got any suggestions on areas to stay and even any good hotels.

Hi -

Get a good guide book and read it so you can set some more specific parameters. It%26#39;s just too broad a request to say maybe this, a bit of that, etc.

No matter where you stay on the Cote d%26#39;Azur, there are places to walk to in the evening, there will be a bit of nightlife within reach almost anywhere you stay, and every one of the cities on the coast has access to public transportation to neighbouring places.

Once you%26#39;ve gone through a guide book and made your wish list, it will be possible for you to precisely describe the places that interest you, and the forum will be able to be much more helpful.

Sorry 1BCTraveler. I didn%26#39;t mean to upset you by sounding idle. I was just looking for a steer on a holiday before I went out and paid for a guidebook.

Thanks allaboutNice. I did actually mean 2009! Sounds like I might struggle for a place to stay. I will check out Hotel La Perouse.

You might also consider the Royal Riviera at Cap Ferrat, although for nightlife you will need to go to Nice, ten minutes on the train or 40 euro by taxi.
