I will be in Sete for two nights soon and would welcome some suggestions for good spots to eat without being too expensive. I am aware that therr are heaps to choose from - hence my question. Thanks

And my personal (excellent value) tip - Just opposite the fish market is a small restaurant. It has a window full of fish kebabs that are cooked on a BBQ. In summer people eat outdoors - in winter you can go indoors. I used to walk there from the Marina and it has always been super !

I%26#39;ve twice dined at Quai 17 in Hotel Grand at 17 Quai De Tassigny. It is not a cheap eatery but not overpriced either. The food is best described as modern Mediterranean, the service was excellent and the food well thought out, cooked and presented.

Check out their menu here.

Most of the restaurants on the main canal aren%26#39;t up to much, but I%26#39;ve had a couple of good meals at La Palangrotte, which is more or less on the canal, just slightly set back on the Rue de la Marine.

Otherwise, it%26#39;s probably good advice to either look for somewhere busy off the main tourist parts, or go to Bouzigues or Meze.

Thanks all for the suggestions. It can be difficult to eat in France when one is gluten free, but should be safe with the seafood - of course sans le pain (:
