If you are looking to stay in an unserviced apartment while in Paris I would recommend you use the website Lodgis.com.
I chose by area then size/cost for our 6 night stay and was delighted with dealings I had with the staff.
Pictures are in the website so you can see what you are getting for the cost. It was a perfect solution for a Parisian experience other than using hotels.

Hello, thanks for commenting on Lodgis, but could you tell us which apartment and how you liked it? Also, how you liked the area it was in? Thanks so much!

in our experience, we were offered apartment after apartment that were %26#39;not available%26#39; when we agreed -- okay, happens
then we were told that our 4th or 5th selection was available and to return the contract. they sent a file that was blank. I emailed about the apparent error; they apologized and resent the %26#39;contract%26#39;. blank again. another query. finally (and we are now 7 days into the process) oops the owner has withdrawn that property.
this all shouts unprofessional to me, so we never tried them again.

Our apartment was on Rue De Savoie in the 6th arrondissement.
Walking distance to St Germain, Odeon, Notre Dame,Montparnasse,Latin Quarter - cafes, markets, museums.

We had exactly the same experience with another site,Parisattitude. Bad communication, apartments free then not free, no help with suggestions.
Our experience with Lodgis took about 4 choices before the final apartment. I had been looking in the 5th arrondissement at first with no luck. As it turned out we ended up in a fantastic spot.
