Best travel options

Hi there will be driving in to the ill de france area from the uk, and staying for 7 days sunday to sunday. question is we plan togo into to paris and i am hoping to leave the car at the val de europe mall and take the train into paris.

which ticket option is best (traveling with adults and 16, 12 nd 11 year olds) we may go in to paris a few times,or simply be spontaneous.

Iunderstand there is the carnets, carte orange, metro pass and viste card) and have no idea which is best and is there a family card? would really appreciate any help

If I understand correctly you are staying at Val d%26#39;Europe for 7 days and are asking about occasional public transportation into central Paris for a family of 5.

If you are only planning on trips into Paris once or twice, I recommend a zone 5 Mobilis pass - 12.90€ per adult, 6.40€ for each child. This is a one day pass which will allow you travel into and back from central Paris as well as as many trips on the RER, Métro, or city bus as you may like.

Note: a one way ticket from Val d%26#39;Europe is 6.45€ so the Mobilis pass gives you unlimited one day travel and costs no more than a normal return ticket.

You can look at all of the ticket options here:

Oh hello and thank you, just fantasic, you have certainly made my day and it is so clear now, the mobilis zone 5 it is then.

Maybe it doesn%26#39;t make much difference, but the prices mentioned are not entirely correct (although theoretically they should be - the Transport-IDF website is official). There have been price changes as of July 1st.

According to the RATP website, the price for a single ticket from central Paris to Val d%26#39;Europe (or the other way around) is now €5.85. The price for a zone 1-5 Mobilis pass is €13.20. I don%26#39;t think there is a half-price Mobilis pass - but there are half-price Paris Visite passes for kids.

You arre right I noticed this when I checked the site, and realised I might as well get a 2 day paris viste for a few Euros extra!, so now I can plan the sights to see over tow days. One more thing though does the Paris viste have to be used over 2 consecutive days, for any two days

Thank you so much
