2nd request for traffic info and advice

We will be leaving Paris Louvre area Sunday morning.

We want to arrive at the airport for 8:45 a.m. What options are availble and recommended.

You can get a car service - take the train - take a taxi

I used shuttle inter -

go into the search box and you will bring up alot of info

i would search - getting to the airport or airport shuttle - something like that

|||

Firstly: What airport?

Secondly: How many are traveling?

Thirdly: Do you want to be at the airport at 8h45 or do you want to be in place for an 8h45 departure?

|||

You can go to Opéra and take the Roissybus around 7:45 or you can take the metro to Châtelet-Les Halles and take the RER B by 8 a.m.

(Sarastro, I just tried to assume that they were not the stupidest person in the world and wanted to check in at the time they said.)

|||

if you have more than one carry-on %26amp; rolling bag, I%26#39;d *not* opt for the metro but choose between the shuttle and taxi. For going to the airport, I%26#39;d lean towards the taxi as they are more reliable (IMHO). Make to reserve a day ahead of time though near the Louvre you have a higher probability of finding one on the street.

Kerouac - It was the use of the word %26quot;for%26quot; in the %26quot;for 8:45 a.m%26quot; that left me unsure.

The rational is that if the OP is asking about CDG (and not Orly or Beauvais) and wants to travel to N America assuming the departure is 8h45 I should still arrive at 5h45, leaving Paris near 05h00. A departure that early on Sunday might preclude the possibility of RER travel and eliminate a certain number of shuttle services.

I try not to assume what a poster is thinking, only what he writes.

Thanks for the info. Our flight leaves 11:30 but we are travelling with teenage kids and have to budget for a %26#39;family crisis%26#39; along the way. We will have 4 suitcases and 4 small backpacks. I prefer the convenience of a taxi or car service.

Thanks again.

We left from the Left Bank Louvre area and allowed 2 hours by taxi. It took 1 hour 20 minutes - we left at 9:30 am and traffic was medium (it was heavier in the opposite direction). This was CDG. The taxi arrived 15 minutes earlier than sheduled, we had time to load bags, say goodbye to hotel staff, take a breath, make sure we had everything. Left at 9:22, arrived CDG curbside and had unloaded luggage around 10:50

There was a good long line checking in, our flight time was 1:30 - we were at the gate by 12:15 or so, after three or four lines to stand in (can%26#39;t really remember) - but one was for luggage (long), one was for boarding pass (short) and then security. Flew American - lines were equally long everywhere we passed by.

There were people coming in and out of our hotel lobby frantically asking the staff to call a taxi (they weren%26#39;t staying there, their shuttles hadn%26#39;t arrived) but there were no taxis to be had without advance reservations.

Getting to the hotel took about 45 minutes, so it was twice as long getting back. AFAIK, drivers took almost identical routes each time.

Sunday morning traffic outbound from central Paris to CDG will be absolutely minimal. In fact, you may find your base taxi fare well under 50€. Remember there is a separate charge for luggage.

will the taxi fare be 50 Euro plus baggage? and tip?
