I%26#39;m assuming that Paris hotels have tourist booklets listing attractions, information , etc. Do these contain discount coupons for museums, boat rides, etc? I%26#39;ve seen discounts on the Internet for some attractions, but I hesitate to order things over the Internet--last minute change of plans, security issues, etc. Will I find these deals in Paris itself?

Well, generally I have not come across a great many coupons (vouchers) over in France. You will occasionally get them in leaflets or, as you say, for booking in advance. But you are much less likely to get money off on the day or find money-off vouchers over in Paris, I would suggest.

Gp to Office du tourisme and see what they have available. I go to the one at Metro Pyramides.
I have seen coupons for amusement parks but not for museums.
