I am going to Paris in October with my sister(I was going alone but she has decided she has to come too). I have a few questions and need some help.
1. I am looking at different restaurants but I don%26#39;t understand the different types. Can someone tell me the difference btw, Classic French, Alsatian, Basque and Breton?
2. TA has every different opinion on Paris Shuttle or Shuttle-Inter and Airport Connections. We are staying in the Latin Quater,Hotel St. Jacques and we will probably have a lot of luggage(it%26#39;s a girl thing) and the train isn%26#39;t an option. We want to be picked up on time and not have any problems. Which should we use? Or should we use Air France shuttle and then a cab?
3.Does anyone know of any good fashion tours? My sister will need something to do while I am at Versailles.
4.Does anyone know of good cooking class we could take? Not to expensive but nice.
5.We plan on using the Metro after we check in but my question is will by Capital One or Chase debit card work in the metro machines?
6. Has anyone done a Jim Haynes dinner? if so how was it?
These are my questions for now. I am sure I will have more. Please try and have patience with me I have never traveled to Paris and I am trying to write everything down and keep notes as I plan my itinerary. Thanks alot. I really appreciate all answers.

re 1..they refer to restos serving food that is typical of the region re 2. if you cant take the train to Hotel St. Jacques take a cab..it will be about 50 euro..just get it at the cab stand and dont use an unofficial cab. re cooking classes- if your French is good try ateliers des chefs..very reasonable and can be anything from a quick luch to a 3 course dinner..if it isnt try cooknwith class. re metro- the machines can be quirky..they like some of my cards and not others..just use cash to buy a carnet...cant help you with a fashion tour though I did take one with Paris Walks but it is one of their special tours and just happened to be given the last time I was in Paris.
