- Day 1 : arrival at marseille at 15:00.

- Day 2 : leave marseille about 18:00 to Aix.

- Day 3 : stay in Aix until 18:00 to Avignon.

- Day 4 : full day in Avignon.

- Day 5 : from Avignon to Le Camargue and then St Remy in the end of the day.

- Day 6 : stay in St Remy about 18:00 then leave to Arles.

- Day 7 : full day in Arles.

- Day 8 : morning in Arles then Leave to Nimes.

- Day 9 : morning in Nimes then leave to Amboise.

What do you think?Any last tip?Something to take out or to increse to the route?

Thanks!

It looks as though you%26#39;ll be spending a lot of time just going from one place to another. Are you going by train or by car? What do you want to see in the various towns and cities?

|||

Well, we%26#39;re going by car and the plan is to see what has to be seen between cities and the specially the famous historical sites and natural beauties....

You could stay in one or two places and still see all of the things on your list; e.g Arles would be central to St Remy (try not to miss Glanium and/or Les Beaux nearby), Nimes, Avignon, Le Camargue (be sure to stop at Aigues Mortes here) and Aix. St Remy would also work as a central location for the places you want to see. If you do prefer staying in more places rather than one central base, you%26#39;re fine; I always like to pack/unpack the least amount of times.

Hi Sarkis,

I agree with Catullus and Janeharriet, the two previous posters, that you are spending far too much times relocating day after day. Since Western Provence is relatively compact it is easily explored from a single well centered base, and the suggestion of using St. Remy is a wise one.

What you have here is effectively 7 days in Provence and far too much driving (your day 9 is 7 hours of non-stop driving).

Since you ask, I should recommend the following:

Day 1. go directly to Aix-en-Provence. Marseille, Cassis, or other nearby destinations can be done as day trips

Day 4. go to Arles (or Isle-sur-la-Sorgue depending upon where you really want to visit). Day trips are easy from here to Pont du Gard, Avignon, les-Baux-de-Provence, Nimes, Sts. Maries de la Mer (Camargue), Gordes, Roussillon or other locations.

Day 9 the long haul to Amboise.

Humm.ok, guys, you%26#39;re helping me a lot!!

So one last question : do you think that if I get to Aix by night, the stay the next day there until around 19:00 and then leave, is enough to see most of it?

Im following your advices and setting a base in Arles and then doing day trips from there....

Thanks!!

%26lt;%26lt;if I get to Aix by night, the stay the next day there until around 19:00 and then leave, is enough to see most of it?%26gt;%26gt;

Aix-en-Provence is a wonderful city and a real joy to visit. Central Aix is not terribly large and indeed you can %26quot;see%26quot; the city in that amount of time. Be sure to include a visit to Cézanne%26#39;s studio and for other ideas, check here:

What might be more of a concern is where are you going headed at 19h00. It%26#39;ll be a late arrival somewhere and right during dinner time.
