Need fish and seafood recommendations

On my next trip to Paris I want to try some of the fish. I prefer whole fish with the bones and the head but I am open minded to standard fillets too.

I want to try the sole. Is it good? I also heard that beurre blanc is a traditional sauce for fish. If you know a restaurant that serves the beurre blanc sauce, please inform me. I want to try that famous sauce.

If you knoe other restaurants that serve good fish, let me know. Thanks mon amis!

I also prefer fish cooked and served whole.

I am not sure about the availability of sole served whole, my impression is that it is typically served fillet style. When it is served with a flour coating it is logically called %26quot;Sole Meunière%26quot;

As for fish recommendations, I am mostly familiar with those caught in the Mediterranean: dorade, loup, pageot, or marbré. Any of these either grilled or gently steamed in a white wine bath are excellent.

As for restaurants in Paris serving fresh fish, use the following as a guide to a recommended location near your hotel. Under the heading %26quot;Cuisine%26quot; look for restaurants names corresponding to the words %26quot;Poisson%26quot;:

I%26#39;m not necessarily recommending it because it is just a chain, but La Criée has a website that could help you familiarize yourself with some of the seafood offerings at a specialty restaurant:

If you%26#39;re not budget-minded, you can%26#39;t top Le Dome on blvd Montparnasse.

La Mediterranee is a lovely seafood restaurant:

My husband, friends and I all enjoyed the ambiance, service and, most of all, deftly prepared fish.

Thanks mon amis. That medeteranian restaurant looks good. I would love to try the boulliabaise there. Le Dome looks so enticing! Since it%26#39;s expensive, perhaps I may just stop in for lunch for an appetiser and a glass of water.

That seafood chain restaurant looks good too. It%26#39;s probably much better than Red Lobster.
