My hubby and I will be arriving on Sat. and staying for a week. We will be celebrating our 7 yr anniversary during this time. I would like to have a nice romantic dinner with a sea view. Just wondering if there are any tips recommendation anyone would like to share. Our ages are 37 and 31, we enjoy the boating, crowds, nice scenery, bars and restaurants that offer entertainment, mixing in with the locales, etc.
Thank you! :)

Romantic dinner with sea view? Sounds a simple request. %26quot;A view of the sea%26quot; is easy to find but a %26quot;sea view%26quot; with an intimate setting is a more uncommon combination, if only because of the economics. If you are prepared to travel out of Nice or dig deep in the pockets more can be found.
The most expensive - Chantecler or La Rotonde at Nice%26#39;s landmark Negresco hotel is the first that comes to mind. Lots of wow factor but think 100 euro each plus.
You cound try one of the beach restaurants along the Prom but the quality of the food is not reckoned much, though you certainly can see the sea.
La Voile d%26#39;Or at Cap Ferrat ticks all the boxes though very pricey.
Up in Eze Village there are two stunners - Chateau Eza and Chevre d%26#39;Or - a stiff taxi bill to get home, but something very special.
Have you considered a chinese takeaway with a sea view? Nice has quite a few of those!
Lets see what others suggest. I can hear Selkies keyboard....

There%26#39;s a restaurant with sea view at the Le Meridien--haven%26#39;t eaten there so don%26#39;t know about the food.

Thank you both for your reply....I%26#39;ve been so busy researching hotel rooms that I%26#39;ve gotten use to using the term %26quot;sea view%26quot; so I%26#39;m glad you understood what I meant. I will look into the restaurants you mentioned, although I think we%26#39;ll pass on Chinese takeaway :)
Last time we were in Nice (on our honeymoon) we hadn%26#39;t really researched the city, so this time we would like to explore more of its treasures

We once had a terrific meal at the Chantecler restaurant in the Negresco Hotel; that%26#39;s another possibility, although I%26#39;m not sure about having a sea view.
Here%26#39;s something on the Le Meridien restaurant:
La Terrasse du Colonial Café
Situated on the roof of the hotel, La Terrasse du Colonial Café offers panoramic views of the celebrated Baie des Anges. Original recipes harmonise the taste of the Mediterranean Sea to the spices from far away places for a great gastronomic break.
Finally, the restaurant at the Palais de la Méditeranée:
Le Padouk
The furnishings in Padouk have been chosen to create a warm ambience and the wood of its namesake has been used to line most of the walls. Padouk was used traditionally in the bowsprits of ships and is known for its superior quality. Summer diners can enjoy a spectacular view from the restaurant%26#39;s terrace.
For its reopening, the Padouk has revised its menu. On top of authentic, hearty fare, you will find a new “Bien Etre et Zéro Complexe” menu (Well-being and zero complex menu)
No idea what %26quot;zero complex menu%26quot; might mean!

Nice isn%26#39;t great for restaurants with sea view, as pretty much any view will involve the Promenade des Anglais and traffic. We usually prefer to get out of Nice for that. There%26#39;s Le Sloop in St Jean Cap Ferrat, with a view of the harbour, Le Cabanon in Cap d%26#39;Ail, the beach restaurants in Cap d%26#39;Ail, Bonobo Beach Bar in Roquebrune, several options in Monaco with views of the port or sea. Just depends how much you want to spend.
|||
I%26#39;ve been thinking about this and i can%26#39;t really think of many restaurants as i%26#39;d never pick a restaurant because it had a nice view.
La goulette at the marina in St jean Cap ferrat probably has a great view but the food is so good we weren%26#39;t looking at the view

That should have been La Goelette but not the one that%26#39;s automatically highlighted as a link by the forum software - that one does not exist as its now an Australian restaurant at Nice port.

I think MC has nailed the issue - just about everywhere on the Riviera at ground level on the sea front has six lanes of speeding cars between you and the sea. Hence you have to think %26quot;up%26quot; like the hotel roof restaurants
One place I made a note of that%26#39;s the exception to that ground level rule is the classic F Scott Fitzgerald-associated Hotel Belles Rives at Juan les Pins.Due to its beachfront location it%26#39;s terrace opens to the sea - no cars!. It boasts a gourmet menu whose prices will make your toes curl, but to my mind it ticks every box.I%26#39;ve not been (as I%26#39;m fresh out of toe-straighteners)but its very tempting.

Catullus %26gt; %26#39;0 complex%26#39; probably means that even those who are concerned about their weight %26amp; physical appearance can indulge in this menu without feeling guilty as it%26#39;s so healthy!
MonacoCabbie %26gt; Have you been to Bonobo Beach recently? It must be a couple of years since I last went, but I found the food to be very average... besides the lady who runs it can be very moody!
NiceLife %26gt; 6 lanes of traffic everywhere on the Riviera? Wow! Comme vous y allez! :)
